PROGRAM GOAL


In order to achieve optimal performance, it is essential to build a strong foundation of speed by focusing on both mechanics and technique. This foundational work will help ensure that athletes are equipped with the necessary skills to propel themselves efficiently.


Once this base is established, the next step is to build the engine of athleticism through the principle of progressive overload, which gradually increases the demands placed on the body to facilitate growth and improvement.


It is important to time the peak of training for May, just before athletes return for summer workouts, camps, or the combine season. This strategic timing allows athletes to be in prime condition, maximizing their potential as they transition into the competitive phase of their training.

SPEED CAMP TRAINING INCLUDES:


30 TOTAL SESSIONS

THUR/FRI: 5pm - 6pm

SAT/SUN: 7am - 8am

TWO AGE GROUPS

ELITE: HIGH SCHOOL & UP

FOUNDATION: MIDDLE SCHOOL & DOWN

  • March: 8, 9, 27, 28 (Spring Break dates tbd)
  • April: 4, 5, 18, 19, 24, 26
  • May: 2, 3, 9, 11, 15, 17, 23, 24


Session Times:

  • Thursdays + Fridays - 5:00pm - 6:00pm
  • Saturdays + Sundays - 7:00am - 8:00am


Note: Some sessions will have to be held on Thursdays or Sundays due to HS Track Season. Please see calendar for reference

Phase 1 - January through February 22 (Total: 10)

  • Mechanics + Technique
  • Build the Engine (Volume)


Phase 2 - February 27 through April 26 (Total: 12)

  • Acceleration. Explosiveness + How to start
  • Back End. Maintaining Speed through the finish
  • Speed Threshold


Phase 3 - May (Total: 8)

  • Max Velocity Speed
  • Speed Threshold
  • MPH
  • ‘Race the car’. Put the mechanics together with the training


We will measure to begin and every 3 weeks throughout all 3 phases
